What is YouTube?
YouTube is an online video-sharing website, think of it as the Flickr for videos. It is easy to use, and a lot nicer on your email box than forwarding video clips back and forth.

I’m convinced already. How do I get started with YouTube?
If you don't have a YouTube account, it's easy to create one, and you can get more information about account creation.![[]](http://tools.ysa.org/images/youtube/youtube_signin.png)

How do I upload and tag my video?
Step 1 - Log in to YouTube

Step 2 - Create and Upload your video
Most digital cameras and many camera-phones can record short video clips; usually the more memory you have on your camera or phone means that you can record longer video clips. YouTube has some tips on recording and editing your video. YouTube can work with videos in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats. Windows comes with MovieMaker. For MacOSX, you can use iMovie, and for Linux, you have many options, cinelerra and LiVES are both popular. Other options are Adobe Premier, FinalCut Pro and other professional-level tools. We don't endorse any of these projects, but are just trying to help you find software that's right for you.
After you've saved your video, you'll need to go to YouTube and upload it. YouTube has lots of documentation about the upload process
It's important to note that YouTube only lets you upload videos smaller than 100MB - at normal, not-too-fuzzy rates, this means about 5-10 minutes per video.
Remember to tag it with "N&GYSD"!

Videos from your Cell Phone!
If you set up a "Mobile Profile", you can use your cell phone to upload video straight from your event (Note that your wireless provider might charge extra for this!). If you want to upload straight from your phone, please set your profile up to title it with your GYSD project name, share with share@ysa.org, and tag it with GYSD, like in the image to the right.
You'll then get an email address to SMS your video to, which you'll need to store on your mobile device for use on GYSD!

Finally, add your video to the N&GYSD group!

How can I display my video on my website?
Once you have the video uploaded, go to watch it - on the right side of the page, there are two fields, a URL and a Embed field. If you copy the text out of the URL field, it is the link back to your video. The Embed field lets you put that text in your blog, webpage, or profile and share the video directly from your website!
