Regional Lead Agency Benefits
- $5,000 planning grant.
- Recognition in Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) promotional materials including electronic and printed materials, GYSD news releases and media kits, YSA publications, and the GYSD website.
- Increased visibility as an organizational leader in GYSD.
- Ongoing technical assistance from Youth Service America staff.
- Regular updates about new grants, tools, partnerships, and other helpful resources for distribution to local affiliates/members.
- Final Report detailing country by country summaries of GYSD events by region.
- Access to all GYSD planning materials, tools, and resources.
Regional Lead Agency Responsibilities
- Promote Global Youth Service Day - Regional Lead Agencies are expected to encourage all youth members, chapters, affiliates, and constituents to plan highly visible service projects during GYSD and to post their service projects on the GYSD website.
- Coordinate affiliates of International Partners and National Lead Agencies - Lead agencies will coordinate ICC affiliates and National Lead Agencies in their region by acting as a focal point for all GYSD information including available resources, grant opportunities, project support and post-project overview (reporting).
- Collect and compile project reports - Lead Agencies will be expected to assist YSA staff in documenting GYSD activities carried out by regional organizations in the region and collecting project reports for inclusion in the official GYSD annual report.
- Manage project postings on GYSD.org - Thousands of local partners and organizers are planning projects that address important community needs. Regional Lead Agencies will assist YSA by regularly updating the GYSD website with news releases, upcoming activities and projects, and project updates.
- Adapt and translate newsletters and educational resources - YSA makes available numerous newsletters and educational and planning resources for use by international partner organizations. Regional Lead Agencies will be expected to assist in adapting resources to serve local communities and translate materials into local/national languages to meet the needs of the targeted youth groups and the people they serve.
National Lead Agencies are organizations worldwide organizing GYSD events in their countries.
