STEMester of Service

Chestatee Middle School & Humane Society

As a STEMester of Service school, Chestatee Middle School has established academies of inquiy and talent development. We have had as many as 50 different academies focusing on a variety of topics throughout the year. Several of our academies were direced toward the care and protection of animals. On Saturday, April 24, Chestatee students will meet at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia and assist with adoptions. Animals that are comfortable with people and socialized are often adopted more easily than those that are not. We will be playing with the animals and helping them to find their forever homes!

Haiti Awerness Workshop

The Chandler Preparatory Academy Global Youth Service Day committee is organizing a number of events to help Haiti after the disaster that occurred recently. The first wave of relief is complete, but the economy of Haiti is still really week, infrastructure damaged, etc. One of the main problems is the lack of medical supplies, which causes many deaths and damages of the civilians. Because of that reason we have decided to fund raise money, buy medical supplies ( the list was submitted by Red Cross) and ship them to Haiti, to make sure, that each citizen of that small and weak country will get necessary help. We ask you to donate medical supplies, such as bandages, paper towels (the items from the first medical care list), bake goods which will be sold on bake sale. Please participate, we will really appreciate your help!!!
